THE RAPE OF THE MIND.

One of the coolest things I have learned while studying in UP is the fact that the brain is “the sexiest part of the body” (Galang, 2010). Also, I have learned that there are such things as “mind fuck” and “intellectual masturbation” (Subido, 2008) which eventually lead to “intellectual orgasm” (Galang, 2010). Yet sometimes, all these mental/intellectual activities occur involuntarily—thoughts are provoked by force, information invade the human mind out of the blue without even asking for permission and things become too powerful that they preoccupy the mind all of a sudden. To me, things like this are not much of a “sex of a mind” but a “rape” instead. Yes, rape because rape, in the first place, involves power play and force just like how thoughts invade the mind forcefully. This idea gave to the birth of “the rape of the Mind.”

The rape of the mind is meant for sharing the things that got stuck in my head, some things which are too powerful that they made it here despite the fact that I have got a lot of things swimming in my mind. Well, the fact that they survived among the countless thoughts I have are already manifestations of how powerful they are—like rapists.
